Preparing for Halloween

So many times, we mamas get all carried away with preparations for the kids' Halloween costumes and suddenly the big holiday is upon us and we realize WE don't have a costume ready!

With that in mind, I've designed a quick-and-easy Halloween costume for adults.
It doesn't get much easier than this, y'all.

More in the "due in" series

A very good friend recently learned that she's going to be a mama for the second time in February. This reminded me that I'd better get going on making sure I have the appropriate due date stencils in my shop!

Two Fleur de Lis tees

Friends Kari and Lara both had a hankering for fleur de lis tees, one on a heathered blue tee and one on an ice blue tee. I used pearlized (slightly sparkly) pale blue paint on the heathered tee, and a deep navy blue paint on the ice blue tee. I really like how they turned out!

Merry Christmas, Recycling Queen

My mom loves, I mean LOVES, recycling. She is one of those people who picks empty cans and bottles out of the trash to recycle even when she's over at a friend's house, or in public. Anyhow, for Christmas, I thought she needed a shirt to wear when taking things to the recycling center, to let everyone know of her regal recycling status.

Fleur de Lis

It's a lovely symbol, the fleur de lis, and since Katrina came to town, it's symbolized supporting the rebuilding of a wonderful part of the country. I stencilled this silvery-blue fleur de lis onto a dark blue long-sleeved tee for myself and wear it ALL the time.

I've since stencilled the fleur de lis shirts for friends Betsy and Janette, who are both Gulf Coast folks.

A Little Something for Me

Sometimes I want to wear my own stencil stuff! So I stencilled this retro-looking diner sign onto a black long-sleeved tee, using mostly silver paint and a touch of pink paint.

Gemini Grandma

My mom calls herself the Gemini Grandma*, so I stencilled a gemini symbol on the sleeve of a black long-sleeved shirt and used a cool font and stencilled gemini grandma on the front of the shirt, using silver paint.

BTW, doesn't the font look very much like that used by the illustrator for the Harry Potter books? I think so.

* she's a Gemini (twins) and she has twin grandsons.

Evil Monkey from Family Guy

My sister and my husband are both fans of the Evil Monkey from Family Guy. So I stencilled shirts for them. This is my husband's. My sister's was on a pink shirt.
